Deciding on what to call this site and finding the URL that summed things up was a task. Who knew that “Jack” was such a popular URL name?
I am a husband, a father, a grandfather, an amateur musician, and an engineer. The Christmas 2014 picture above has all the people who are important in my world. I’m on the right, my lovely wife, Dana, is beside me. She’s the center of my world. The other gravitational pulls in my life make up the rest of the picture. My four kids, Lucas, Lauren, Lance, and Lane. Lucas’s wife, Courtney. Lauren’s husband, Jed. The little one in the middle is our first grandchild, Hudson. If you stick around long enough, you’ll get to know each of them.
I have always had a desire to know how to make things work. This led to my vocation as an engineer where we’re all about how to make things work. That is a large part of what this site is about. How to make things work. There will be many projects and details about how to get things to work for you as well.
Observations about life and the people I encounter are topics of discussion. If I didn’t pursue engineering, I probably would have been a sociologist. People fascinate me and I like to talk about that.
Making music is another area I plan to chat about. I am an amateur pianist. I enjoy playing as often as possible, composing and arranging. I have been an active participant in the Vincennes University Concert and Jazz Bands, although I’m sitting this season out.
My hope is that you will enjoy the things I publish and create for you here. Feel free to add your own thoughts.
